7 Divisions in Myanmar

 

Yangon Division
Yangon Division is located in the southernmost part of the central plain and borders Bago Division in the north and east, Gulf of Mottama in the south, and Ayeyawaddy Division in the west.




Mandalay Division
Mandalay Division is situated in central Myanmar, adjoining Sagaing Division in the north, Shan State in the east, Bago Division and Kayin State in the south, and Sagaing and Magway Divisions in the west. The area of Mandalay Division is 14,295 square miles.



Bago Division
Bago Division is situated in the south of the big central plains. Magway and Mandalay Divisions lie to its north, Kayin State, Mon State and the Gulf of Mottama are to the east, Yangon Division to the south
.



Magway Division
Magway Division shares borders with Sagaing Division in the north, Mandalay Division in the east, Bago Division in the south, and Rakhine and Chin States in the west.




Sagaing Division
Sagaing Division is situated in the north-western part of Myanmar. It shares borders with India in the north, Kachin State, Shan State and Mandalay Division in the east, Mandalay and Magway Divisions in the south, and Chin State and India in the west.



Tanintharyi Division
The sea along Taninthayi coast is dotted with nearly 800 islands, of which those in the south are called the Myeik Archipelago. The division has an area of 16,735.5 square miles.




Ayeyarwaddy Division
Ayeyawaddy Division is situated at the southern end of the central plains of Myanmar. There is Bago Division in the north, Bago and Yangon Divisions in the east, Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal in the south and west.
