May Myo (May Myo)

This is an annual plant with a soft stem. It is a bushy plant with many off shoots that grow up to 2 ft. The plant grows well in silt where water doesn't inundate, and also in wet humus. It can be grown both on lowland and in hilly regions. The flower comes in white, red and purple and thrives in rainy and cool seasons. It is now cultivated commercially in Myanmar.

The leaves are simple and mostly smooth-edged, sometimes hairy, often quite small. Showy, daisy-like flower-heads are usually produced in late summer or autumn in a wide range of colors, including blue, violet, purple, pink, red and white, all with a central disc of yellow or purple.
