Myanmar is surrounded by five neighboring countries but it is not a land-locked country because its west and south regions open into the sea. The Rakhine coast, on Myanmar's west, faces the Bay of Bengal and the Indian Ocean, and the southern Tanintharyi coast fronts the emerald green Andaman Sea.
The climate is also totally different from neighboring Bagan and Myingyan. Perched mid way to the summit of this legendary Mountain, over looking the “Popa Taungkalat” at 2,500 ft. above sea level is the eco-friendly Popa Mountain Resort, an international resort hotel. The resort is 40 minutes drive from the Bagan/ Nyaung U airport.
